Service Details

Never been to church before? Don't sweat it. You're welcome here. It's not easy to visit a church for the first time, so we do all we can to make your experience a good one.

WHAT TO EXPECT

We hold two identical services every Sunday morning at 8.30am & 10.30am.

Each service goes for around an hour and a half.

Morning tea is available for everybody between the services (10 – 10.30am).

Project Kids runs at both services for children aged 3 – 12.

There is a crèche service for children under 3 at the 8.30am service, but not yet at 10.30am.

Occasionally we get the whole church family together for a 9.30am service. Check the calendar here .

Arrival

If it's your first time we recommend arriving 10 - 15 minutes early. That will give you enough time to park and find a seat before the service begins. The service starts promptly at both 8.30am and 10.30am so we can get you out on time.

There will be someone near the entrance to point you in the right direction if you are unsure of anything. Also near the entrance are welcome packs for new people. Feel free to grab one, fill out the contact card inside and hand it to a helper – to help us get to know you. Bibles are there too so you can actively follow along with the sermon. Toilets are around the back of the building.

If you have children you might like to allow a little more time to meet some of the Project Kids team and see where your kids will be if they're joining in there.

Dress

The Project welcomes everyone just as they are. Some people dress up and others dress very casually. We encourage you to come the way you feel most comfortable.

Services

Each service is different, but there are a few things you can expect:

  • We usually kick off the service by singing together. There will be some singers and musicians up the front leading the songs and we provide lyrics so you can follow along. Don't worry if you don't want to sing – you don't have to. We sing because we believe it draws us together, helps us refocus on God, celebrates His work, gives Him glory and is good for our spirits. This part of the service usually goes for about 20 minutes.
  • Next, one of the leaders will make church family announcements, and pray. Most people bow their heads and close their eyes to pray, which can help to quieten the mind and listen, but it is up to you. You'll know the prayers finished when you hear the 'Amen'.
  • If Project Kids is on (during the school term) this is when the kids will head out, under the supervision of the Project Kids team. If it is your child's first time you'll need to register them. After that they'll be on the roll so you don't need to check them in and out each week. Find out more about Project Kids here .
  • As the kids make their way out the adults usually take the opportunity to say 'hi' to the people sitting around them.
  • Then one of the pastors will take the floor and deliver the message they have been preparing with God's leading. The messages are always based on the Bible and are relevant, real, and applicable to life today. Whether you’re a Christ-follower or not, you're sure to walk away with some valuable food-for-thought. At first, Scripture from the Bible can be difficult to understand and might even sound like another language. We get that and are happy to help. We encourage you to keep at it. Give it time and it will begin to make more sense.
  • As part of our weekly services we do take up an offering. If you are a guest, please do not feel any pressure or obligation to give. This is an act of worship for our regular attendees, allowing them to thank God for all of the great work He is doing in their lives and to give back to help continue the work of the church.
  • After The Service

After the service we encourage you to meet some of the church family. Please grab a welcome pack from near the entrance, fill out the contact card inside and hand it to a helper.

Sermons are meant to stir things up! They are messages from God and He wants to see us grow. It is not unusual to have questions or strong feelings after a listening to a sermon. We are keen to connect with you – to listen, talk, pray and support. If you would like to talk to someone about the message you have heard we encourage you to seek out a church leader or someone who has been going to the Project for a while.

    Project Kids

Project Kids runs at both services during the school term. We’ve put a lot of thought and energy into making church fun, relational and educational for kids aged 3 – 12.

They join in on songs, games, craft, lessons and reflections prepared just for them, at their age, to support you in teaching them about Jesus. We let you know what we'll be teaching in advance so you stay in control of your child's learning.

We understand how precious your children are and we take great care to make sure they are safe at all times. Every environment is supervised by several trained volunteers who have submitted to background checks and been cleared by our staff. Find out more here.
